Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 6, 2026
At PureQR (accessible from https://pureqr.org), one of our core architectural priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document describes the types of information we do and do not collect, and how we handle advertising and cookies.
1. The PureQR Privacy Guarantee: 100% In-Browser Execution
Unlike commercial QR generators that upload your data to remote cloud databases, PureQR operates entirely inside your web browser:
- No Payload Storage: Your URLs, WiFi passwords, contact details, SMS messages, and notes are processed locally using client-side JavaScript. They are never transmitted across the network to our servers.
- No Logo Retention: When you upload a brand logo to embed in a QR code, the image file is read into local browser memory via the HTML5 FileReader API and discarded when you close the tab.
- No Scan Tracking: Because we generate static QR codes encoding your raw target link directly, we do not operate redirect servers. We cannot track who scans your printed codes, where they scan them, or what devices they use.
2. Web Server Log Files
Like most web applications, our static hosting providers (such as Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, or Netlify) log standard HTTP server requests when you load our web pages. These logs include IP addresses, browser user-agent, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps. This data is not linked to any personally identifiable information and is used exclusively for server security, DDoS defense, and infrastructure performance monitoring.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
PureQR is an ad-supported service. We partner with third-party advertising vendors, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements when you visit our website.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on PureQR.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to PureQR and other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we utilize Google-certified Consent Management Platforms (CMP) supporting Google Consent Mode v2 to deny ad and analytics cookies by default until explicit consent is given.
4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate website usage (such as total pageviews and popular tool types). GA4 is configured with IP anonymization enabled. No personally identifiable information or content from your generated QR codes is ever shared with GA4.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
PureQR uses standard browser localStorage solely to remember your chosen theme preference (Light or Dark mode). This preference is stored entirely on your device and is never shared.
6. GDPR and Data Protection Rights (EEA/UK Users)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), European users have rights regarding their data. Because PureQR does not collect, process, or store personal data, usernames, or contact databases, there is no personal profile or account data to export or delete. If you have questions regarding our compliance, contact us at support@pureqr.org.
7. Children's Information
PureQR does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We advise you to review this page occasionally for any updates. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this page.
