Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about static QR permanence, printing best practices, error correction, and in-browser privacy.

General & Pricing

Do PureQR codes ever expire?

No. PureQR generates static QR codes where your data (URL, text, WiFi, or contact card) is baked directly into the black-and-white optical pixels. Because there are no intermediate redirect servers or expiring trial subscriptions, your codes function permanently as long as the physical print remains legible.

Is PureQR really free forever?

Yes, completely free. There are no subscriptions, no accounts to create, and no credit cards requested. You can generate unlimited high-resolution vector SVG and PNG barcodes for both personal and commercial projects.

How is PureQR funded if it's free?

PureQR is supported by clean, policy-compliant, non-intrusive display advertising that never obscures generator controls or causes layout shifts. We never sell user data or require monthly software subscriptions.

Technical & Print Sizing

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static QR code stores your raw payload directly inside the image; it is permanent, free, private, and works offline. A dynamic QR code points to a third-party redirect link on a cloud server; it allows changing the destination URL later, but charges a monthly fee and will break if the subscription lapses.

What error correction level should I choose?

For standard websites and clean print items, Level M (Medium, ~15% recovery) is the recommended default. If you are uploading a central brand logo or printing for harsh outdoor environments, select Level H (High, ~30% recovery).

Why should I export in SVG format instead of PNG for print?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) stores artwork as mathematical paths rather than fixed pixels. An SVG can be scaled to any size—from a tiny 2cm business card to a 10-meter highway billboard—with zero loss of sharpness or resolution.

Privacy & Data Security

Does PureQR track who scans my QR codes?

No. Because PureQR codes are static, scanners communicate directly with your destination link without routing through any tracking servers. No IP addresses, scan locations, or timestamps are ever tracked or stored.

Are my WiFi passwords or contact details uploaded to PureQR?

Never. PureQR generates barcodes 100% locally inside your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your text, passwords, and logos stay strictly in your device's memory.
